— Services for John P. Kliewer, 91, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Congregational Church in Topeka with the Rev. Charles Erb officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Kliewer died Friday at the Topeka Retirement Center.

He was born June 6, 1898, in Rusk, Okla. He farmed and operated a barber shop in the Ulysses area until moving to Lawrence in 1938. He was active in church music ministry in Lawrence, directing the choirs of several churches. He retired and moved to Topeka in 1977.

Mr. Kliewer married Esther Harms on May 20, 1924, in Hillsboro. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Geraldine Dodge, Topeka; a son, Dwayne, Topeka; three sisters, Susan Neufeld, Shafter, Calif., Edna Kliewer, Bakersfield, Calif., and Luella Pauls, Corn, Okla.; three brothers, Henry, Shafter, Calif., Leonard, Downey, Calif., and Archie, Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Capper Foudation for Crippled Children, 3500 W. 10th St., Topeka, Kan. 66604.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka.
