Editor, Journal-World:

When my 16-year-old daughter and my 12-year-old son were very young children, they would frequently hear their father sing the wishful song of "Free Nelson Mandela." Being inquisitive, they asked about this man, Nelson Mandela. I explained that Mr. Mandela was a political prisoner in his own country. Basically he was held for speaking out on what he knew was right, that all men are created equal; that he refused to believe for a moment the idiotic premise of apartheid.

My wishful singing never stopped; we as a family never forgot about Nelson Mandela. While it's true Mr. Mandela and millions like him are not ``free'' under the current South African apartheid government, there is still a certain ring of truth to the Dr. King quote which surely brings an exciting chill to all free and just people. He's free at last, he's free at last, thank God Almighty he's free at last.

Rt. 5.
