Services for Virginia Laura Wright, 70, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. David Aanonson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Wright died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 10, 1920, in Kansas City, Kan. She had been a Lawrence resident since 1925. She was employed as a waitress and laundry worker.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge No. 4, Eagles Aerie No. 309 Auxiliary and Ladies of the Lawrence Shrine.
On March 31, 1956, at Topeka, she married Charles E. Wright. He died July 18, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Freeman Sales, Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Martha Folsom, Lawrence; two sisters, Mamie Neis, Lawrence, and Pauline Beebe, Kissee Mills, Mo.; a half-sister, Edna Ross, Kent, Wash.; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn.
