Services for Blanche M. Plaisted, 86, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary will the Rev. Virgil Brady officiating. Burial will be in Meriden Cemetery in Meriden.
Mrs. Plaisted died Saturday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 3, 1904, Mrs. Plaisted was head cook at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 1941 until she retired in 1984. She was a member of St. Paul United Breatheren Church in the Bloomfield community for many years.
Mrs. Plaisted graduated from Rock Creek High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She was a member of the Autumn Club and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, both in Lawrence.
She married William A. Plaisted on January 15, 1925, in St. Joeseph, Mo. He died in 1960.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita McBride, Wichita, Venita Miskimen and Alta Johnson, both of Lawrence; two sisters, Hazel Zeller, Topeka, and Edna Renfro, Perry; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Assn. in care of the funeral home.
