Services for Samuel M. Waltman, 84, Baldwin, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mr. Waltman died Thursday at his home. Born Sept. 10, 1905 in Brown County, Ind., Mr. Waltman had lived in Baldwin since 1955.
Mr. Waltman was a carpenter, and a member of Carpenter's Local Union 2279.
Mr. Waltman's first wife, Virginia Mae Cundiff died Jan. 8, 1969. He was married to Faye Breeden April 18, 1973, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Harold M., El Paso, Tex., Carl E., Ottawa, Paul R., Thornton, Colo., Forrest E. and Larry R., both of Baldwin; three daughters, Betty Jo Foust, Rogers, Ark., Peggy Y. Smith, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Virginia Lee Waltman-Christ, San Antonio, Tex.; a sister, Edith Hall, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary.
