Services for Ruth S. Garratt, 92, rural Lawrence, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Rumsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Garratt died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1898, in Redfield, and attended schools in Redfield and Fort Scott. She later moved to Lawrence and attended the Lawrence Business College.
Mrs. Garratt formerly worked as a secretary for the Lawrence Public School system.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley EHU for 60 years.
She married Vernon W. Garratt on Nov. 4, 1923, in Redfield. He died Jan. 22, 1985. The couple farmed south of Lawrence.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Flory, rural Baldwin, and Virginia Garratt, Lawrence; a sister, F. Elizabeth Wells, rural Lawrence; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildre; five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at Rumsey Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University in care of the funeral home.
