Kansas City, Mo. Members of the Kansas City Chiefs football team will play in a charity basketball game for former Raytown South basketball star Chris Lindley on May 7.
One of Lindley's feet was amputated after a train accident in January. He had signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Kansas.
Proceeds from the event at Raytown South High School will be used to purchase a high-tech artificial foot, which costs from $5,000 to $7,000. The foot would enable Lindley to walk and run and possibly play basketball again.
Money from the fund-raiser also will be used to defray Lindley's hospital costs, which total about $100,000.
