A 65-year-old woman drowned after her boat capsized in the choppy waters of Clinton Lake early this afternoon.
The woman's son was rescued shortly after their boat capsized.
Authorities did not have identifications for either the man or his mother.
Tom Kolenda, Kansas City, Mo., said he and his son-in-law were fishing about noon when they heard the man yelling. They found the man sitting on the capsized boat, he said. Kolenda pulled the man to his boat and took him to the Clinton Marina. Kolenda said the man was wearing a life jacket and indicated his mother also was wearing a life jacket.
Officials said the woman's body was found under the capsized boat.
