LINCOLN, NEB. — Aided by six Nebraska errors, Kansas swept a baseball doubleheader with the Cornhuskers here Saturday night. KU won the opener, 5-3, in 10 innings, and the nightcap, 3-1.
NU made two errors in the first game, four in the second. Kansas made just one error in the nightcap.
Curtis Shaw earned the win in Game One, pitching four innings and allowing three hits and one run. He walked three and fanned five. Starter Steve Renko gave up six hits and two runs and struck out seven in six innings.
In Game Two, Mike Massey took the win after pitching all seven innings and allowing three hits.
Kansas ran its record to 13-12 overall, 2-0 in the Big Eight. Nebraska fell to 18-10, 0-2.
Both teams were to meet again today in another doubleheader.
