Services for Ruth M. Long, 92, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Merrilyn Slack officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Long died Friday at a Topeka hospital.

She was born Sept. 15, 1897, in Oskaloosa and lived in the Oskaloosa community most of her life. She graduated from Fairview High School and attended Colorado Teachers College in Greeley. She taught in Brown and Jefferson county schools for several years.

Mrs. Long was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa and was a past worthy matron of Oskaloosa Chapter No. 62 of the Order of Eastern Star.

She married Charles G. Long on Nov. 25, 1925, in Oskaloosa. He died in 1980.

Survivors include a son, Charles G. Long Jr., Topeka; three sisters, Mary Nyfeler, Fairview, Louise Bowen, Hiawatha, and Vivian Preston, Liberty, Mo.; a brother, James Bowen, Holton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
