— Services for Martin W. Herrstrom, 95, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in McLouth, with the Rev. Charles Clinkenbeard officiating. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Herrstrom died today at the Veterans Administration hospital in Leavenworth.

He was born Nov. 13, 1893, in Boone County, Iowa. He was a retired farmer. He was a World War I Army veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church, McLouth, and a 50-year member of the American Legion in Tonganoxie.

He had been a Tonganoxie resident for 50 years before moving to Oskaloosa in 1987.

He married Iona Anderson on Nov. 5, 1919, at Boone, Iowa. She died Oct. 21, 1956.

Survivors include three sons, Elden, Spring Hill, Fla., Harvey, Tonganoxie, and Walter, Louisburg; a sister, Gladys Ahrens, Madrid, Iowa; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
