Services for Frank J. "Joe" Speicher Jr., 43, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence with the Rev. David Aanonson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Speicher died Friday at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., following complications from surgery.

Mr. Speicher was born March 12, 1946, in Lawrence. He had lived his entire life in Lawrence.

Mr. Speicher was employed in field maintenance for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mr. Speicher coached several softball teams as well as serving as an umpire for city league softball.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Paul Speicher, Lawrence; a daughter, Ann Marie Speicher, Lawrence; his mother, Dorothy Speicher, Lawrence; and a sister, Mary James, Lecompton.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Kansas Special Olympics.
