Charles R. Hull, 43, 1107 W. 27th, was sentenced Friday to nine months in the Douglas County Jail on an amended misdemeanor count of sexual battery. Hull was charged May 26 with a felony count of taking indecent liberties with a child after he allegedly molested a local girl who then was 15 years old. He pleaded no contest Sept. 7 and was found guilty of the amended charge.
Russell Baston, 21, 742 Lyons, pleaded no contest Friday and was found guilty of amended charges stemming from two incidents. Baston was found guilty of felony counts of burglary and criminal damage to property stemming from the July 25 burglary of a North Lawrence business. He was also found guilty of misdemeanor counts of unlawful deprivation of property and attempting to elude police officers. Those charges were filed against him after he allegedly took a local man's motorcycle and led police officers on a chase on June 12. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11.
