Memorial services for Edith Randles Worthington, 84, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita with the Rev. David Walker officiating. A private family burial in Wichita Park Cemetery will precede the service.
Mrs. Worthington died Tuesday at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
Mrs. Worthington had lived in Lawrence since September 1988. She was a guidance counselor at Wichita East High School for many years. Prior to that, she taught in Ottawa.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wichita. She was a graduate of the College of Emporia, and received a master's degree in guidance counseling from Wichita State University. She was a member of the PEO sisterhood.
Mrs. Worthington was born July 28, 1905, at White City. She was married to Roy Milton Worthington, who died in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Worthington Simpson, Lawrence; a brother, Leland Randles, Athens, Ohio; two sisters, Marian Babbitt, Kimberling City, Mo., and Martha Lintecum, Houston; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Keith Worthington ALS Society of Greater Kansas City or to the First Presbyterian Church, Wichita, which may be sent sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
