Bruce Eberhart

Bruce Allen Eberhart, of Lima, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2019 at the age of 70. Bruce was born in Lawrence, Kansas on September 20, 1948 to Noah Everett Eberhart and Marie Doris Fleer Eberhart Sass. At a young age, he moved with his parents and younger brother to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a short time and then to Lima, Ohio in 1951 where he resided for the remainder of his days.

Bruce graduated in 1966 from Bath High School where he participated in football, track, and band playing the trombone. He then went on to become a Journeyman Electrician, through completion of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 32 Apprenticeship Program, and retiring with a Master Electrician certification. For many years he served IBEW Local 32 as a Labor Trustee, as well as being involved with other committees to help serve members of the Union.

He was an avid reader. He also loved listening to his music collection while being accompanied by his faithful companions, his dog Bootsie and cat Duke and all of his four legged companions that came before them. He enjoyed his tree and vegetable gardens, coming from a long line of green thumbs.

Bruce is survived by his daughters, Cassandra Ann Davis (Lee) Perry of Port Orange, Florida, and Jennifer Marie Eberhart (Nick) George of Lima, Ohio, He is also survived by the mothers of his children Annette Davis Doherty and Anita Gilica Eberhart (Richard) Siebenthaler.

He has five surviving grandchildren: Derick Perry, US Army, Jilleen Perry and Alexcis Perry of Port Orange, Florida, and Ezra George and Jonathan George of Lima, Ohio. Also surviving Bruce are his brothers, David Lucas (Barbee) Eberhart, of Allen, Texas and Michael Everett (Paulett) Eberhart who reside in Dallas, Texas and Lawrence, Kansas, and his sister, Jan Marie Eberhart Malooly (Rich) Rudolph who reside in Lima, Ohio and Flower Mound, Texas.

Surviving nephews include Kristopher (Diane) Eberhart of Austin, Texas, Jamin (Ransley) Eberhart of Parker, Colorado, Matt (Mary Doris) Eberhart of Dallas, Texas, Ryan Malooly of El Paso, Texas, Skyler Malooly of College Station, Texas, Zion Rudolph of Lima, Ohio and Flower Mound, Texas. Surviving nieces include Gretta Eberhart (Jesus) Arzate of Allen, Texas, and Jessica Eberhart of Dallas, Texas. A surviving aunt is Jean Murray Eberhart of Lawrence, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his sons David Lucas Eberhart and Aaron Everett Eberhart. He was also preceded in death by his parents as well as his uncles Gilbert Fleer of Worden, Kansas and Delbert Lavern Eberhart of Lawrence, Kansas. Bruce always fondly remembered his grandparents Lucas Benjamin and Edna Victoria Steward Fleer and Everett Lavern and Leona Dailey Eberhart from Worden and Pleasant Grove, Kansas, respectively.

Arrangements were made through Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home of Lima, Ohio.

Family members are planning a Remembrance of Life Ceremony in Lawrence, Kansas at a future date in which his ashes will be laid to rest near his mom, uncle, and grandparents at Worden Cemetery, Worden, Kansas.
