Brenda Boyd

Becky Boyd, 71, of Kansas City, passed away November 6, 2018, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, November 11 at the Thompson Barn, 11184 Lackman Rd, Lenexa, KS 66219.

Becky was born on July 23, 1947, the daughter of C.J. and Ruby (Haas) DeHoff in Lawrence, KS. She was married to her husband, Robert (Bob) Boyd, in spring of 1968, a bond that lasted for over 50 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Kansas and Master’s degree in Counseling from Missouri State University. Throughout her teaching and counseling career, at Johnson County Community College, Drury College, and Minnesota State University, she guided and enriched many of the peoples lives around her as she did daily with her family and friends who she always had surrounding her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother in law Grace Boyd Anderson. She is survived by her husband Bob and their two children, daughter Beri (Boyd) Hinkle and husband Brad; and daughter Robyn (Boyd) Holsman and husband Jason; her biggest joy in life four grandchildren, Cole and Cody Hinkle, Savannah and Grant Holsman; sister Linda (DeHoff) Ingalls; and brothers Jim DeHoff and John DeHoff , and many loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of KU Medical Center and Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care for providing compassionate care in her final days.
