George F. and Marilyn McCleary, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 13 in the Alton Ballroom at Pachamama’s. Friends and relatives came from Ohio, New Hampshire, Florida and California to attend the celebration, including the best man, Bill Parchen, from Aiken, S.C.
George F. McCleary and Marilyn Baldwin were married June 13, 1959, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Springfield, Ohio.
Marilyn retired from elementary teaching in Lawrence in 1999 and George is entering his 36th year of teaching at Kansas University.
They have three sons, Joseph and wife Heather, Centennial Colo., John and wife Zoe, Centreville, Va., and Frank, Blue Springs, Mo., and four grandchildren.
