Using basic bellydance movements\, students will identify and\nmobilize the muscles most commonly used in bellydance.\n\nSeptember 21 & 28—Isolations: Ribs 'n Hips: Here\, we delve more deeply into the basic movements\, now creating healing and eye-catching isolations of the ribs and hips.\n\nOctober 5 & 12—Fancy Feet & Traveling Steps: Students will take those isolations for a stroll! Students will layer torso movements with traveling steps\, to create an even more dynamic expression\nof dance.\n\nOctober 19 & 26—All About Arms: We'll discover how simple arm movements and poses can be the artful framework to your basic body movements\, for a beautiful and powerful effect.\n\nNovember 2 & 9—Playing with Props\, Part I: The Allure of Dancing with Veils: Learn how fun and exciting it is to dance with a veil floating and swirling about you! Every dancer should try this\, at least once.\n\nNovember 16—Special Class!...Body Conditioning\, for Bellydance\nVisit from The Costume Contessa!\n\n*November 17—WORKSHOP: The Truth About Back-Bends\n\nNovember 23 & 30—Playing with Props\, Part II: The Basics of Balancing: In this class\, we put your good posture into practice\, as we challenge ourselves\, while building on our basic bellydance\nmovements.\n\nDecember 7 & 14—Playing with Props\, Part III: The Magic of Zils:\nThe dynamic effect of personal percussion while dancing is a wonderful sight to see...and so empowering to perform! Even the most basic beginning bellydancer can learn to accompany her/his self musically with zils.\n\nDecember 21—HAFLA!: Featuring\, Sister Circle Bellydance: Hafla is\nthe Arabic word for “Party”! This last class of the session is marked with a bellydance potluck and Sister Circle performance (“sister circle” means\, dancing with and for one another\, while sitting in a circle supporting and enjoying one another's company). This is your\nopportunity to bring together everything that you have learned and take it for a spin on the floor!
