Little Anglers, get ready! Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Prairie Park Nature Center is hosting Fishing For Fun.

The program is open to children ages 7 years old to 13 years old and will teach how to fish using fishing poles and different bait and lures. Participants are asked to bring their own fishing pole or they can use one of the nature center's poles.

Sessions of Fishing For Fun will be held 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, June 4, June 18, July 16 and July 30. Each session cost is $10 per participant. The program will be held at the nature center, 2730 Harper St., and Mary's Lake.

Registration for the program is available online at or at any Parks and Recreation facility, including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature Center or the Administrative Offices in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
