3rd Annual Lawrence Rock’n Bowl – a STRIKE in the fight against cancer presented by O’Malley Beverage of Kansas.
This annual grassroots event to be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Royal Crest Lanes is hosted by Concerned Citizens Challenging Cancer whose mission is to improve the lives of area children and families affected by cancer. Join us as we honor our 2014 VIP bowlers a.k.a. cancer warriors Brayden Ballew and Aiden Turner.
A cosmic bowling event featuring three games of bowling, shoe rental, food, beverages, lots of fun and prizes and auction items donated by locally owned businesses. There are two sessions to choose from 1p.m. and 7p.m. Registration forms and on-line registration are available at our website. Register before July 1, and be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a 32-inch flat screen TV.
This year’s beneficiaries are the Survive and Thrive Program at Children’s Mercy Cancer Center and the Catch a Break Fund at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association. In the last fiscal year, 39 Douglas County children were treated at Children’s Mercy for childhood cancer (up from 33 the previous year). In 2013, the Catch a Break Fund assisted an average of 10 area families each month, all experiencing financial hardships associated with their cancer fight.
The 2nd Annual Conroy’s CRUSH Cancer Totally Trivial Trivia Night will be held Friday, April 25 starting at 7p.m. at Conroy’s Pub, 3115 West Sixth Street. All proceeds benefit Lawrence Rock’n Bowl for Children’s Mercy Cancer Center and the Catch a Break Fund.
Event funds are managed by the Douglas County Community Foundation a 501(c)(3).
