ConQuesT 44: Magic, Mystery, & Mayhem. May 24-26, 2013 Kansas City, MO The Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society is pleased to announce ConQuesT 44: Magic, Mystery, and Mayhem! The convention is being held over the Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, at the Holiday Inn CoCo Key, Kansas City, MO near the Truman Sports Complex. ConQuesT, founded in 1972, is one of the oldest enduring science fiction and fantasy conventions held in the Midwest. It gathers together fans and professionals with interests in the genre's literature, artwork, films, television programming, costuming, and gaming. This year’s Guests of Honor include author Patrick Rothfuss, artist John Picacio, fanzine editor Christopher J. Garcia, author Patricia C. Wrede, editor Teresa Nielsen Hayden, and cartoonist John Kovalic. ConQuesT 44 also features many other genre professionals as participating panelist such as Jeremy Mohler, George R.R. Martin, Caroline Spector, Robin Wayne Bailey, Bradley Denton, and many more. ConQuesT’s events programming offers many options to attendees including a writers’ workshop and writing contests, art show and auction, masquerade and hall cosplay, guest and fan panels, table top and network gaming, art demonstrations, podcasts, book release parties, vendor room, round table discussions, and independent movie screenings.
