KU School of Music Youth Chorus Concert

The KU Youth Chorus will hold its final performance of the school year on Thursday, May 9, at 5:00 pm in Murphy Hall, room 328. The chorus is a non-auditioned choir for children in the community enrolled in fourth through eighth grade. The KU Youth Chorus will be performing a variety of literature that they have learned under the guidance of director Debra Hedden, associate professor of Music Education and Music Therapy; Debbie Brown and Melissa Grady, both doctoral teaching assistants; Katie Hom, master's teaching assistant and the undergraduate general music methods students. Elizabeth Boresow, piano, Tanya Kholosho, cello, and Megan Bracciano, flute, will accompany the singers. The program will include a variety of songs, including "Cuckoo" by Jane Taylor and "Old Time Rock 'n Roll" by George Jackson and Thomas E. Jones III. The KU Youth Chorus has performed at other on-campus events in the past, and this spring performed in KU's production of La Boheme. This concert is free and open to the public.
