MAY 2013- The AIM Dance Company, the resident dance company of Point B Dance, is proud to present a new work entitled “Hide and Seek” which is dedicated and inspired by the survivors of the Holocaust. The new work explores the courage of self as well as the strength of community. Julia Morgan, a four year member of the AIM Dance Company, says this about “Hide and Seek”, “’Hide and Seek’ is a very special piece to me. My grandma escaped to the U.S. during the Holocaust as a young teenager with her parents. Many of our family members were not as fortunate and were unable to leave, and others simply refused to leave what had always been their home. It is with my grandmother's strength that I was able to withstand being ridiculed for being Jewish growing up. 'Hide and Seek' is more than telling a story for me; It is taking something that has always been so dear to me and experiencing it with those around me who love and support me no matter what.” ABOUT THE SHOW: The Point B Dance Carnival is a celebration of dance featuring jazz, hip hop, and contemporary styles of dance with an emphasis on entertainment-based commercial dance.
