Calling all farmers! Please join us MONDAY NIGHT, March 11, for this important event: "FARMERS Let Your Voice Be Heard!" is the first farmer gathering of its type in our area. Some of the most significant decisions impacting family farms are being made indoors, in offices, far from the day-to-day realities of agricultural work. That is why we feel is so important that the voices of farmers be listened to, and their causes advocated for. Event hosts are excited to listen to participating farmers and learn more about their challenges and needs. Event hosts include: Douglas County Food Policy Council, Kansas Department of Agriculture, K-State Research and Extension, and the Lawrence Farmers Market. We ask that farmers of all kinds come together to to share ideas - with us and with each other - about what is needed to help support family farms and increase sales of Kansas farm products locally. Admission is free. Please RSVP at: http://farmersletyourvoicebeheard.eventbrite.com/# or by phone at: (785) 856-2623. We hope to see you.
