WHAT; Lawrence City Band Concert #5 - IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME WHEN: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 WHERE; South Park in downtown Lawrence The Lawrence City Band will present a good, old-fashioned summer band concert in the park, Wednesday, June 26, at 8 pm in South Park in downtown Lawrence. The concert features Stan Smith, trumpet soloist, and music from George Gershwin's classic musical, "Porgy and Bess". An overture by Giuseppi Verdi, as well as music by Leroy Anderson, Robert Jager, Henry Fillmore, and others. The concerts are sponsored by the City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department with assistance from the Rice Foundation, and they are free.
