As a way of bringing the DropIN/PopUp Waiting Room Project to a crescendo before it closes, the Spencer Museum of Art is hosting a panel discussion exploring what artists bring to the table when it comes to healthcare. This panel discussion, moderated by public radio personality Sylvia Maria Gross of KCUR, explores the intersection of art and healthcare, asking what art's methodologies can contribute to healthcare research as well as the healthcare experience. Panelists are: Dr. Barbara Woods (clinical assistant professor of pharmacy, KU), Dr. Cynthia Colwell (director of music therapy, KU), Margaret Weisbrod Morris (director of programs and partnerships, Lawrence Arts Center), James Martin (curator, Center for the Healing Arts, Truman Medical Centers), Marguerite Perret (associate professor of art, Washburn University, and one of the lead artists contributing to the DropIN/PopUP Waiting Room Project).
