The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Douglas County Team Captains will meet Tuesday, February 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auditorium (lower level). The meeting will help new team captains as well as returning captains begin preparations for the June 7 - 8 Relay to be held at the Free State High School track. Please join the meeting fun and win prizes! The Relay For Life is an overnight, 12 hour relay event to celebrate survivorship, remember those lost, and raise funding for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. The highlight of the event is the Luminaria Ceremony at dusk when thousands of personalized luminaria lining the track are lighted to glow throughout the night while team members walk the track to symbolize that "cancer never sleeps".
