Jayhawk Audubon Society February Program
Chuck Otte, Director of Extension Services for Geary County, Past President of the Kansas Ornithological Society (KOS), and coauthor of Birds of Kansas, will make a presentation entitled "Landscaping for Hummingbirds."
Chuck Otte is one of the most active birders in Kansas, reporting his sightings regularly to the Kansas Birding List Serve. He has served as editor of the KOS newsletter and as Chair of the Kansas Nongame Advisory Council, an advisory group to the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism. As Director of Extension Services for Geary County, he has the sole programming responsibility for agriculture, horticulture and natural resources.
At the February 25th program, Chuck will discuss the best plant material for your landscape and other factors that will make your yard more hummingbird, and bird, friendly.
Optional dinner with Chuck Otte - 5:00 p.m. at Free State Brewery, 636 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
