Hailing from the rolling hills of Kansas, Tyler Gregory can regularly be found busking on city streets with his deep voice and steam-powered melodies bouncing off the street-side architecture. His sturdy songcraft takes cues from WWII-era blues bellowers like Leadbelly and Son House. Gregory's mix of blues and roots music howls with a sense of passion and freedom. Singing songs portraying stories of travel, land, and the meaning of simplicity, Gregory goes full force on his guitar/stomp-box live performance arrangements. http://tylergregorymusic.com/fr_journal.cfm For almost 19 years, one of the mainstays of Bluegrass and Traditional Country music in northeast Kansas was a band called Calhoun County. When that band broke up at the end of 2002, four of the members decided they still liked playing together. The Ready Brothers were formed early the next year. Like their predecessors the Brothers knew they wanted to play more than Bluegrass but they also knew they wanted Bluegrass to be the base line for their music. The challenge for them would be to create a good sound with a non-traditional lineup. Since that initial lineup there has been one change and the mandolin brother was replaced with a banjo brother. The songs that fit the bands instrumentation, washboard, guitar, banjo and bass, came quickly and included Bluegrass, Western Swing, Traditional Country, Folk, Blues and Roots music. The band's name took more time. One day the boys decided they were always ready to play music. They also decided they had known each other for so long they were like family. The Ready Brothers were born. As you will find out this led to names for the Brothers that lets you know they enjoy making music and not taking themselves too seriously. http://www.readybrothers.com/ http://www.myspace.com/thereadybrothers http://www.facebook.com/thereadybrothers
