The 25th annual Chocolate Auction will be held Sunday, February 10 at the Lumberyard Arts Center, 718 High Street, Baldwin City. Creations in chocolate and original art by area artists will be offered at both silent auction and live auction. The honoree this year is acclaimed artist, retired Baker University professor and long-time Baldwin City resident, Tom Russell. Russell and his late wife, Alice Ann Callahan Russell, brought the concept for the chocolate auction to the community and the first one was held on February 12, 1988. There will be refreshments and entertainment and a special silent auction table for children. Doors will open at noon with the silent auction beginning at 12:30pm and the live auction beginning at 2:00pm. Proceeds go to the Lumberyard Arts Center scholarship fund and other arts center activities. Donations will be accepted.
