As part of Persian Culture Fest at KU, the Spencer Museum is screening A Separation, a 2011 drama exploring the dissolution of a marriage and a wrenching decision a couple must make about whether to stay in their country to care for an ailing parent or flee for the sake of their child's future. The film made director Asghar Farhadi the first Iranian filmmaker to receive an Oscar. The screening is followed by a panel discussion with KU faculty and members of the Iranian community. In Farsi with English subtitles. Running time: 123 minutes.
