African Americans in World War II Series: The Tuskegee Airmen: Red Tails Examined by Kevin Willmott, April 9, 7:30 p.m.

KU professor, writer and director, Kevin Willmott, looks at the role of African American World War II soldiers through the film lens. Willmott will critically examine the historical and racial significance of the Tuskegee Airmen in the recent film, "Red Tails."

This event includes free opportunities to screen this movie. Movie snacks provided! Free Screenings of "Red Tails" -- Tuesday, April 2, 2:30 p.m. at the Dole Institute, Simons Media Room, 7:00 p.m. at the Kansas Union, Centennial Room, 6th Floor

This series is made possible through the generous support of Dr. Sandra Gautt of Lawrence, Kan. The series is dedicated to Dr. Gautt's father, Thaddeus Whayne, and all African-American WWII veterans.
