Presentation by Forrest Swall Kansas currently has two end of life choices: 1) hospice care, and 2) palliative care. Should we call on our legislators to adopt the third, “compassionate physician assisted ending of life" as has happened in Oregon, Washington, Montana, not to mention several of the European nations? What are the issues? What is required for legislative action? ((The University-Community forum (Wednesdays from 11:30-1:00) has been bringing together the KU and Lawrence communities since the 1940s. It is a series of presentations by faculty, students and community members to educate and facilitate dialogue on ideas and events that shape our society. Presentation: noon to 1pm. Optional Lunch served at 11:30 am ($6.50 adults, $3.50 students))
