With the string of holidays about to come up, let’s take a moment to consider the old monastic tradition of simplicity. Certainly the idea of simplicity could use a bit of renewal in our modern context. But what does it mean to live simply? How do you make those choices? What are the benefits? What are the costs? Where is the Biblical grounding? What are its social implications? A great pamphlet was prepared for the Quakers by Richard Gregg to address all these questions. I will bring a copy for everyone and we can run through it with these questions in mind. It is getting cold enough to make going inside a good option, and, what better way to warm up than with a couple of friends and a good conversation. Hope to see you tonight. Tap meets every Thursday from 5:30 to 7 at Henry’s bar upstairs. J
