Bahamas (aka Afie Jurvanen) will play with his full band at The Bottleneck on Thursday, November 8 in part of an opening tour for Milo Greene in support of the highly acclaimed album Barchords. Following the February 2012 release of Barchords, (Brushfire Records) Bahamas made his U.S. television debut on Conan, was named one of “SXSW 2012's Top 10 Shows” by SPIN magazine, and received critical acclaim from a wide range of press. Here is what has been said about Bahamas so far: “Bahamas' Afie Jurvanen has the soul and swagger of a 50's idol but his good fortune doesn't stop there: His guitar playing was the most stylish we saw all week...His licks ranged from mellifluous to the kind of blues that could turn Jack White's head from 1,000 feet.” - SPIN (SXSW 2012's Top 10 Shows) “It’s that delightfully rare kind of record that commands an instant replay." - The Los Angeles Times “…Bahamas whips soul-infused vocals, bittersweet lyrics, and uplifting melodies into an airy, acoustic dream.” **** – Consequence of Sound “...I can't resist its charms...for proof, listen to the best song on the album...it's an irresistibly sad ballad called "Lost in the Light", in which his voice and his guitar playing merge with a lush beauty.” – NPR Fresh Air “The singer/songwriter has mastered music for any mood, with just the right amount of soulful blues and mellow happiness.” - Relix Official Music Videos: "Lost In The Light" - Exclusive Premiere with SPIN magazine: http://www.spin.com/articles/bahamas-lost-in-the-light-video-barchords "Caught Me Thinking" - Exclusive Premiere with Rolling Stone: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/bahamas-caught-me-thinking-20120308
