Five years is a long time for an unsigned band to be together. A decade is almost unheard of. Picture It In Ruins has been together for 11. Twins Cody (bass) and Caleb Stevenson (drums) and Ed Kopfman (guitar) have been continuously working together for half their lives in The Alliance—a Wyoming-based band that evolved from punk roots into something more metallic and heavy. The band put in three western tours shortly after they graduated high school, but realized there was something missing. The boys need ed a couple key elements to round out their sound. Enter: vocalist Luke Friebel and guitarist Chris Chambers. With Luke’s intense growls and Chris’ solid-as-a-rock chops, the band hit the road for a month to showcase their newer, heavier, more technical sound. However, there was still something missing. The Alliance had outgrown its roots completely. The band huddled around the parkway pavilion with some friends and went over possible new names. Out came Picture It In Ruins. The name exemplifies the band to a T. Their heavy sound lays waste to the brutal kids in the crowd, while the music aficionados marvel at the sheer technical acuity of all the members. Picture It In Ruins is ready to stop playing games and get serious. They plan to tour for the foreseeable future and hone their technical skills into an ever-expanding lexicon of complexity and brutality. http://pictureitinruins.bandcamp.com/ http://www.myspace.com/pictureitinruins
