Hey everyone, beat the heat, take a seat, sip on something sweet!
Tonight we talk Calvin- ooohh I know I know, but you are going to love it.
There was a story in Sojourners about how the Phelps family uses the Calvinist idea of predestination to promote their hate. (http://sojo.net/magazine/2012/06/face-hate). I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks about the topic.
The Phelps case is the extreme but what do people think about God calling or choosing them? And what do people think about the idea of irresistible grace versus an individual's choice to accept God's grace?
It's a pretty old school theological topic, but the Sojourners story brought it up again, let’s take it apart and see what we come up with. Arley will be leading tonight and Josh will help facilitate.
Tap is every Thursday 5:30 to 7 and Henry’s bar upstairs. Hope to see you there.
