Nigerian-born Seun Kuti is the youngest son of the legendary Fela Kuti and took over his father’s afrobeat combo Egypt 80 at the age of fourteen after Fela's death in 1997. Throughout his tenure as lead singer and saxophonist, Kuti has used Egypt 80 to follow his own musical path by combining contemporary topics with the band’s musical styling while staying true to his father’s influences.
