FREE CONCERT: Appropriate Grammar & The Hillary Watts Riot!!

Event details

Stop in to The Burger Stand @ The Casbah immediately following the KU vs. Texas Final Home Game of the year for a night of FREE live music by local musicians!!

Appropriate Grammar is just like their hometown of Kansas City: pockets of excellence held together by their common culture. Their influences and styles combine into something just as sonically delicious as a Byrant's Burnt Ends Special, and it's just as saucy. Singer and guitarist Nick McKenna's unique voice and folky finger-picking open the door for bassist and vocalist Claire Adams' wildly melodic additions to both features. All of that combined with guitarist Alex Dunsford's Sonic Youth-inspired leads and Steve Gardels channeling Marky Ramone and Dave Grohl through his kit, Appropriate Grammar has something for every ear.

As for The Hillary Watts Riot, Hillary utilizes targeted audio/visual input to provide cortex stimulation for her Drones®. This explains both their spry, youthful appearance, and their enhanced cognitive skills. Now, you too can take advantage of the invigorating qualities of her prescribed stimulation program! HWR also hails from KC.

Music will start around 10:15 with Lawrence's own 'The Ole Standbys' who channel covers ranging from Sublime to Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs as well as original works covering topics such as: espionage, alcoholism & asshole-ism!

Food will be served late, until at least 12:30 or 1 am!! Make your way to the Burger Stand at the Casbah and join us in doing the Truffle Shuffle all night long!!
