Lawrence – The Watkins Museum invites all area residents who took part in the making of the made-for-TV movie "The Day After" to attend a cast and crew 30th anniversary reunion on Thursday, June 28 from 6-8 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to record their memories from the filming at a listening booth operated by Kansas Public Radio. The event is being held in conjunction with the new exhibition, The Day After: Living in Fear?, which examines the film’s impact on the community and the world. Filmed on location in Lawrence and surrounding areas, the movie responded to prevailing fears of the threat of nuclear war by examining its potential aftermath. Controversial and sensational, the film became known around the world. The exhibit will be open during the event. A screening of the movie will take place at the Spencer Museum of Art on Saturday, June 30 from 1-3 PM. Both events are free and open to the public.
