On June 7th at 7:30PM the Dole Institute will be presenting D-Day: From the Beaches of Normandy to Bedford, VA with president of the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA, Robin Reed, and Kansas D-Day veteran, Col. Roy Creek. Together they will take us on a journey from the personal D-Day account of a soldier to the significance of the on-going memorialization of this tremendous day in history. *As a special treat, national sculpture artist and Lawrence native, Jim Brothers, who created several life size pieces for the National D-Day Memorial will be displaying some scaled down versions at the entrance of the Dole Institute. Don't miss this wonderful integration of art, history and national pride
