The Broadway musical for all generations, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, is coming to Lawrence. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. Disney's Beauty and the Beast has been performed on Broadway for more than 13 years and is one of its longest running musicals. Experience the romance and enchantment of the show at the Lied Center. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes and dazzling production numbers including Be Our Guest and the beloved title song. The story is of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
