We have tried to stop asking what we want to be and started asking what kind of thing we want to be. Music is not enough. Community and experience is bigger. That’s why this is in first person. Herbert and Brothers is a young group of men who are not biological brothers but all happen to have an eclectic collection of musical instruments and tastes. We met at Friends University in our hometown of Wichita, KS. We’re not that weird indie folk band down the street that will only be pleased if you think they’re different and we’re not that guy with the freakishly well-defined jawline and swooped hair singing about the girls that left him because he’s too beautiful. I guess that’s why we work. We’re just trying to do something believable. Music and the community that springs from it is part of that belief, and that is exactly what this pop folk band has been born out of. We don’t meet people; we ask them to bring their viola to our next rehearsal. We want to play with you not just for you. We want to. Let’s partner, let’s create together, let’s move together. Even if all you can do is bob your head. http://www.facebook.com/herbertandbros
