Spencer Museum of Art: Volunteer Information Session

Event details

Visitor Services Ambassador:

The Spencer Museum of Art is looking for outgoing, reliable volunteers to share their passion for art at the Visitor Services Desk this summer! Visitor Services Ambassadors are the face of the Spencer Museum, and we rely on their energy and enthusiasm. In exchange, we provide a meaningful, memorable experience for the aspiring arts professional as well as the seasoned community volunteer. This is a great opportunity for people who hope to pursue careers in museum settings or who just plain love art to get a look behind the scenes and to be inspired by the fabulous Spencer collection. It is also a great way for young people to gain customer service experience. Comfort interacting with the public, answering phones and giving clear directions is a must. Volunteers need to be able to make a commitment of anywhere from two hours per week to 6 hours per week, June through August. Arrangements for vacation or travel can be made with advanced notice. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.

Anyone interested in learning more about what it takes to be a Visitor Services Ambassador is invited to attend one of our information sessions:

3-4 PM April 26 6:30-7:30 PM April 26

Coffee and refreshments served. Please RSVP to gbk@ku.edu by April 25 to confirm your attendance or make arrangements to get the information at another time.
