The KU School of Music ushers in the new school year with the 12th annual Collage Concert. This year’s concert will be held at the Lied Center at 7:30pm on Friday, September 23, 2011. Admission is $15/general admission and $10/students and seniors. The Collage Concert is an opportunity for the community to experience the full-range of talents of KU music students and faculty. This year’s event will feature performances by the KU Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Saxophone Quartet, Trombone Choir, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble I. Additionally, the program will feature solo performances by KU music students. The concert will culminate with a rousing performance by the Marching Jayhawks. Prior to the concert KU music therapy and music education students will present their research papers in the Lied Center lobby. Following the concert will be a ticketed fundraising reception in the Seymour Gallery of the Lied Center. Tickets to the reception are $75 (includes entry into the concert), and proceeds will go to the School of Music Student Opportunity Fund. For those interested in the fundraising reception, please contact Carolyn Thompson in the School of Music Dean’s Office at 785-864-3422.
