Event details

Tonight’s early show at the Jackpot Music Hall, 943 Mass. comes to us courtesy of Sacramento, Calif. band Ganglians. The band’s dreamy, loose rock music is an amalgamation of surf rock guitars, heavy voice modulation and the shout-speak singing that has permeated indie music. But somehow despite or because of that, it works. They are to sun and surf music what Black Lips are to ’60s garage rock. That is, underproduced, loose to the point of lazy, but still able to retain the base qualities of the genre that inspired them. An added bonus for all of you karaoke junkies, Ganglians are playing at 8 p.m. tonight, meaning it will still be possible for you to subject friends and complete strangers to “Kiss From A Rose” for the 1,000th time at 11 p.m. Tonight’s show is 18-and-older. Tickets are $8 if you’re 21 or older and $10 even, if you’re a youngster.
