Tickets $45 adults, $22.50 students and youth Legendary jazz pianist, composer and bandleader Herbie Hancock has been at the forefront of modern jazz, funk and rhythm and blues music for more than 40 years. Credited with bringing jazz-fusion music into the mainstream, Hancock's eclectic and abundant collaborations and inventive compositions have led him to become a true musical icon. Originally a member of Miles Davis' revolutionary "second great quintet," Hancock collaborated with the illustrious trumpeter on groundbreaking fusion works including "In A Silent Way" and "Bitches Brew." Throughout his artistic explorations, he has transcended limitations and genres while maintaining his unmistakable voice. His distinguished career includes an Academy Award for his film score to "Round Midnight" and 14 Grammy Awards, including album of the year in 2008. Many of his compositions, including "Canteloupe Island," "Maiden Voyage," "Watermelon Man," "Chameleon" and "Rockit" are contemporary standards that have had a profound effect on all styles of modern music.
