The University of Kansas Chamber Winds, conducted by Dr. Paul W. Popiel, and the Symphonic Band, conducted by Dr. Matthew O. Smith, will present a concert at the Lied Center on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 7:30 pm. The guest graduate conductor for the concert will be Sarah Labovitz. The Chamber Winds will begin the concert, performing works by Antonín Dvořák and Kurt Weill. The second half of the evening will feature the Symphonic Band performing pieces by Richard Strauss, Gustav Holst, Ryan Nowlin and Michael Markowski. Concert tickets are $7/general admission and $5/students and seniors and are on sale through the Lied Center Box Office at 785-864-2787.
