Event details

Philadelphia band The War On Drugs is tonight’s best bet, but for anyone who’s followed Adam Granduciel and company or read our stellar interview with Granduciel, this should come as no surprise. The band’s most recent album, “Slave Ambient” has received a lot of attention both commercially and critically. The moody, almost anthemic new album finds a sweet spot between Granduciel’s drawl-like delivery, not too far off from Bob Dylan and 12 songs that manage to be expansive and focused at the same time. The album has a forward momentum to it that makes it perfect for long drives and lazy weekends, alike. Granduciel talked about some of the challenges that went into making “Slave Ambient,” particularly his dependence on loops in the studio and the difficulty that comes with reproducing them live. Come see him pull it off tonight, with support from Purling Hiss and Cantern Tanton. The show starts at 9 p.m. with doors at 8 p.m. The show is for people 18 and older.
