This seems like a good topic to discuss this time of year. Think about some of these questions: So Catholics give up things for Lent, do Protestants? What is the point? Is practicing Lent actually spiritually edifying? What other Lenten traditions? What do you think about prayer, fasting and alms-giving in the time of Lent? But there is a bigger question looming still before we get to Easter that we should probably talk about: What is the cross all about? What is the meaning of the crucifixion? What does it mean about God? What does it mean about us? What does it mean about Jesus? This is getting pretty churchy for this crowd, but every now and again it is good to revisit the old traditions and see what they offer us for our times. Theology on Tap meets every Thursday at Henry’s bar upstairs from 5:30 to 7. Come late, leave early, argue with everyone or only listen, just have a good time and take the chance to reflect---- deeply---- uh huh—we will see---à>>>> ca-CHOW
